Lost at Sea
Elsewhere is where I'll be
I'm not home alone
or beneath the subways
Don't call my name
my voice too faint to be heard
Elsewhere is where I am
Not a daydream on a couch pillow
Not absorbing the cathode rays
My eyes can see but your image is lifeless
Elsewhere is not hard to reach
waves crash on the rocky shore
lighthouse dim, paint scarred and fading
who is that calling from the misty barque?
Elsewhere I want to escape
Divided between two distant worlds
your thoughts energize the atmosphere
A funnel of memories tear at my clothing
I slip away as the clouds reveal a magenta sky
